Sleepover

The sleepover is almost here. This Friday at Diguna Mbagathi, we are expecting around 40 young people for a sleepover. We will then have our walk thru the New Testament with none other than Morris Opati on Saturday.

We are so looking forward to this. I am sure it will be great fun.

School Visits

So we went to Nkoroi Plainsview High School and AIC Athi River Secondary Schools on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th to visit Rama (with the Mohican hairdo) and Kevin (with the superstar pose)respectively. Kevin also had his birthday that Sunday so his mum was also there with some aunties. We took some goodies to both and had fun at the venues.

Our sleepover is coming soon and we are looking forward to a walk thru the New Testament once again with Morris Opati. If the last one was fun, this should be extremely enjoyable, and educative.

July is here, already!

We have already begun the 7 Stages of Spiritual Growth. We went through the two parts of the Overview and the first part of Conversion. This Saturday ushers in the second part of Conversion. This Saturday 17th July also has Rama's visiting day at school and some of us intend to go and see him. Sunday 18th July has Kevin's visiting day at school as well as his birthday and we are definitely going to see him for this double celebration.

At the end of the month, we have our monthly sleepover (30th July) followed by the Walk Thru the New Testament with Morris Opati on the 31st July. This should be an interesting end to the month.

The mission to Oyugis in December is still very much on and plans are in high gear to see who will go and how to facilitate travel, food and accommodation.

That's July in a nutshell.

Chosen this Year

We opened the year with our first meeting on 16th January where we sat and made plans for the year ahead. A group of people were chosen as leaders in order to help in facilitating the activities of the group. On the 22nd to 23rd January, a youth group from a German church sponsored a trip to Magadi which was an experience to remember. We had paused our regular study at Romans 7 and we continued where we left off once our normal bible study meetings resumed.

We continued without much event through February and into March with our bible study meetings. March was highlighted by a sleepover in which we watched a preaching on sexual purity titled ‘Keep Your Underwear On’. We also watched a preaching on the Prodigal God by Tim Keller. April continued in the same vein as February without anything out of the normal bible study meetings save for the sleepover which wasn’t so well attended as some of the group were away in Tinderet for the the Diguna games.

May was a breakthrough month as some of the members achieved some of their goals and dreams. We were also able to finish the study of the book of Romans. The next two Saturdays after the book’s conclusion were used to recap and reflect on lessons learnt through the study.

June Program

WALK THRU THE BIBLE with Morris Opati (photo below)

We were taken through an overview of the Old Testament by Morris Opati from the International Christian Ministries on Saturday 12th June at Diguna Mbagathi. All in attendance agreed that it was both informative and challenging.

THE SEVEN STAGES OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH

The Christian life is about stages of transformation- moving from stage to stage, becoming wiser and stronger. God’s voice is breaking through, inviting you to begin the adventure or pursuing Him. He is beckoning you and many others to the next stage in your spiritual growth.
We delve into the seven stages of spiritual growth from Saturday 17th June 2010 to Saturday 25th September 2010.
